Gary Groombridge Plumber who lives in Eketahuna. For 8 years he worked on my rental homes in the Eketahuna Community. Last year he entered one of my rental properties. The Tararua Council Inspector was on the property checking the re-piling had been done correctly. I witness Gary Groombridge (Eketahuna Plumber) attempting to bribe him with a gift. To the Inspectors credibility he stated I cannot accept this gift as it is a bribe. Gary Groombridge Eketahuna Plumber insisted and left the gift and walked of my property. The Eketahuna Plumber Gary Groombridge has been known to say I do not pay my invoices to other Eketahuna trades people within the town. Eketahuna community personalities blues.
The Tararua District Council investigated the incident.
I have found the Building Officer attended your property at 3pm on 15 June for the purpose of inspecting house piles in relation to a building consent (No. 304419). During the inspection, Mr Gary Groombridge (plumber) arrived at the property and approached the Building Officer with a gift (alcohol). Both Mr Groombridge’s visit and gift were unexpected. Neither the visit nor gift had any relationship to the building inspection work being undertaken by the Building Officer at your property. The Building Officer advised Mr Groombridge he could not accept the gift. However, he relented when he felt Mr Groombridge could become offended if he continued to refuse the gift. Gary Groombridge Eketahuna Plumber History:
A Wairarapa plumber has been fined $500 for breaching drainage and plumbing regulations.
The Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board took Gary John Groombridge to court over breaching regulations for work done at two separate properties. The board regulates the industry.
Groombridge admitted the charges in Masterton District Court yesterday.
The Court was told Groombridge installed 12m of drainage at one property and did some minor work at another, before Christmas last year.
